Call it enlightenment with age, but the ultimate recognition that knowledge is power is the crown jewel of personal development. In today’s highly competitive and global marketplace, woodworkers and others in the wood industry need to jump into the knowledge game with both feet if they are to keep their jobs, keep their businesses afloat and keep the U.S. woodworking sector healthy and thriving. Education is key. Surely, if you do not keep abreast of new technological advances, you will be “out-educated” and ultimately “out-competed” in today’s business environment. |

During its regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting, on May 1, 2006, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors declared May 7-13 as International Building Safety Week 2006 in Fairfax County. In association with this proclamation ceremony, Fairfax County also announced that it had selected Dr. Frank Woeste, Virginia Tech Professor Emeritus, as the recipient of its annual Building Safety Community Partnership Award. |
